ordner.fyi

The basics, in order.

Mail, contacts, files, calendar — the everyday infrastructure everyone needs, running on hardware you control instead of a hyperscaler's. It's what powers lab.ordner.fyi today.

The software that should just exist

You shouldn't have to hand your life to an ad company to get an inbox, an address book and a folder that syncs. ordner.fyi is a self-hostable replacement for the Google/Microsoft app suites — plain protocols, no lock-in, boring in the best way.

Built on atproto

Sharing works via atproto: grant access to anyone with a handle — like emma.ordner.fyi — and collaborate across instances. Your identity isn't an account on somebody's server; it's yours, and it travels with you.

Already at work

This isn't a promise, it's plumbing. lab.ordner.fyi runs on it right now — serving real mail, contacts, files and calendars every day. The packaged, take-home version is what's coming soon.
